Computer Science Students' Association (CSSA)

For one academic year from May 2024 - April 2025 I held the title of Director of Finance for the CSSA at the University of Manitoba. In this role I had responsibilities of managing budgets, accounts and the finance committee. I was the main contact for sponsors for various events and collected funding from UMSU and the Department of Computer Science.

I contributed new systems for the lounge canteen transactions and the general budget in order to be more cost effective. Also, I initiated the process for incorporation in order to continue Square payment services which also, allowed for more product options through their bank.

I was highly involved with event planning and contributed significantly in the coordination of the 2024 Game Jam event. This included researching and securing catering and sound equipment, ensuring all other need supplies were available the day of the event, maintaining communication with sponsors that were involved in event day activities, and forming documentation like a logistics schedule and procedures guide for other volunteers to reference.

Other side projects involved organizing and deep cleaning the executive room in the lounge, interviewing and selecting the councillors for all committees, and hosting an appreciation party for the other executives.
